Plot: "Playful Kiss" is a romantic-comedy covering the romance between Baek Seung-Jo (Kim Hyun-Joong), an arrogant young man with a genius IQ, and Oh Ha-Ni (Jung So-Min), a ditzy young woman who gets poor grades, but whose heart is as powerful as Seung-Jo’s mind. The series is based off from a Taiwanese drama and a Japanese manga book. It is call "It Started With a Kiss." It is about a girl in F class that falls in love with an A class boy. She liked him since the first year of high school. Once, she decided to tell him she likes him but was rejected. So the story continues about the girl who keeps chasing after the boy she loves. You know those books, at first after finishing, you are so excited and love everything about it, but then after some time you are like
wait a minute…
That’s basically how I felt about “Playful Kiss”.
It’s a very light and cute drama but doesn’t really have any character development. Also I think Ha Ni was too obsessed with Seung-Jo (he’s very very very attractive but a total shithead) and I can’t quite understand why he would choose her after she’s been following and creeping over him for about 4 years…
The plot itself was predictable and sometimes really unrealistic but I didn’t really mind that, to be honest. Another good thing about this drama was the humour. I laughed a lot while watching heheh
All in all I think if you are looking for something similar to “Heartstrings” you should definitely watch this drama. And also if you don’t want to watch one which will make you cry but rather feel good after finishing it.
